Before any post is installed, we submit a locate request through 811, Kentucky's free call-before-you-dig service.
Within a few business days, utility companies mark the location of any underground lines in the work area, protecting your property and everyone on the job.
This isn't optional, Kentucky law requires it. But more importantly, it's the right thing to do. Many homeowners don't realize that unmarked irrigation lines, pet fences, and landscape lighting won't show up in a standard 811 locate. We'll walk you through what 811 covers and what it doesn't before we ever break ground.
